HELLO I'M
EMILY GRIFFIN
Travel Pictures and Stories!
Like I said in my about section, I am a lover of adventure. One way I go adventuring is to travel to various locations. I haven't been to very many destinations, but I have loved every minute I have spent in the places I've traveled to thus far. I hope that as time goes on I can add more to this page.
New York City
In November of 2015 I took my long awaited dream vacation to New York City. NYC is a destination I have wanted to visit for as long as I can remember. The allure of the culture and hustle and bustle was almost too much to handle. After months of saving and planning I landed in the city and had to pinch myself a little bit to make sure it was all real. Thank goodness it was because I had the time of my life and hope to be able to visit NYC again in the future.
Yosemite National Park
Every Fall season, my family and I go camping in Yosemite National Park. It is probably my favorite place in the world. I love the fall colors and the peacefull feeing that comes over me as we enter the park. Whether we are hiking to see a waterfall of just hanging around camp, I am so grateful for the hours I have spent in that valley.
Central Park was my favorite site in NYC besides Times Square. I love the peaceful feeling that accompanies the scenery.
Sitting on the steps of the MET was definitely a must. After a long day of travel, this was a perfect place to wind down and appreciate art.
Seeing Phantom was a last minute decision but one of the best ones we made that trip. Being a musical buff, I knew all the songs but I had never seen it so I was ecstatic to be able to get this opportunity.
If anyone has seen Night at the Museum you will understand why I was so excited to take this picture and show everyone!
The Rockefeller Center is especially beautiful that time of the year, but I thin the view from the top could give the Empire State building a run for its money.
The Statue of Liberty is quite small in this picture but I loved how the wind framed her out of my hair.
After a late night and early morning, my face reflects my tiredness in this picture, but I couldn't go to NYC without stopping for a minute at the public library.
Walking across this historic bridge was so fun. We walked towards Manhattan so we could see the iconic skyline as we made our way across.
I love Broadway musicals so much and getting the chance to see one of my favorite actors play one of my favorite characters in one of my favorite plays was possibly the best part of the trip.
Standing at this iconic photo spot we can see the entire valley floor including two of the most famous rock formations in Yosemite: El Capitan (left), and Half Dome (right).
El Capitan draws rock climbers from all over the world to test their abilities on its surface. One of our favorite activities is to sit in the field opposite the face and look for climbers making their way up.
I would say this is one of the most easily recognizable features in Yosemite; whether that is because it is a prime climbing spot or a prime picture spot, I'm not sure.
Sometimes little sisters make the best models for your fancy pictures of the beautiful scenery along the valley floor.
Since we go in the Fall time, the waterfalls are usually very low. But that gives us the perfect opportunity to get close and personal with them by climbing all over the rocks.
Last year when we went it snowed pretty heavily the last day we were there. It didn't make it much fun for sleeping, but it sure made it pretty to look at.
This was taken in the mist of the Yosemite Falls. By climbing on the rocks close to the bottom you are prone to getting a little wet if there is enough water falling.
Every year we take this same picture in this same spot. It is so fun to see how we grow from one year to the next. This trip wouldn't be very fun without these guys by my side
Riding our bikes through the valley is one of our favorite pastimes. When you drive in the car you can certainly get places faster, but you risk missing little details and perfect photo opportunities.
